Ceredith approached the Fortress with caution. She didn't know if the Baenetara still survived or if they lived inside the very fortress that she had longed to see for so long. The same charms that had been placed upon the tower were also here and she could feel the pulsing of the ground and she grew closer to the gate. Stopping in front of it she looked up to the turret centered at the top. Nothing there, good, she thought. Placing her hand upon the gate and it sprang to life and opened for her. She slowly walked inside peering around taking in everythng to make sure she was alone. Seeing that she indeed was alone she continued on the stone path to the next gate. As she ascended the steps the doors opened for her before she had even reached them. She stepped inside and smiled to see that no one was there. She was alone, and excited to be in such a maginificent place. This was apart of her history and she intended to learn all that she could of this newfound place.
Deciding that she was going to wait there for her sister she ventured forth into the corridor wondering if she could find the temple. The Temple somtimes hid itself from those unworthy of gazing upon it's power and beauty. Ceredith as proud as she was had been a little reluctant when she was told this. She had no idea if the temple would find her worthy but now was the time to find out.
It was so good to be home. The temple flared to live and as of yet she had not seen any sign of life and her hopes dropped. There was a glimmer of hope that even the Wise One would still be alive but unfortunately her hope was crushed effortlessly. She circled the room before moving to the altar. How wonderful it was to see her home, she didn't remember much of it, only stories Akara had told to her years ago, along with other legends that she had been told of her homeland when she was being trained in Epicurum. Reminiscing on her stay at Epicurum she began to remember so much more. She had to be trained seperately from the rest of the novices only because of such promise she held and the power they could all see within her. The High Priestess there had only seen one other before her with a significant amount of power and that had been her mentor. Gwyndolynn had been trained seperately as well but only per her request. They had done it just for her and soon realized that Gwyndolynn's power grew just as Ceredith's did with each passing day. They praised Ceredith for having the Sight since the obvious was that she already knew that about Gwyndolynn.
Pulling herself away from her memories wasping in through an open window a soft breeze blew through her robes. She looked at the window and it slammed shut. Such was how the Fortress as well as the Tower worked. Powerful spells had been put in place long ago so that only a true ShadowBane would be able to bring the Realm back to life. The Wise one long ago had predicted that such a time would come to pass, and they ShadowBane's would all be wiped out. Having foretold this to the Monarchs of that time they were able to stave off complete extinction. Having had Ceredith's nurse flee with her taking her to their ally Ravenlock they had proved that destiny was what you make it. In accordance with the prophecy they put these charms in place so that one day the magnificence of this realm would be even greater than before. She regretted that she never had a chance to userp the throne out from underneath her parents but this was just as good enough. Finally she had made it to the altar and realized that the throne was still there. Her throne now. Running her hand along the lacquered edge of the altar she moved to the throne and seated herself upon it. The faintest glow of red appeared around the chair and herself. She had solidified her claim as the last ShadowBane. The temple and soon would the realm after the lines of power pulsed in reaction to her having sat upon the throne would now recognize her as the Monarch.
Standing there she grinned reveling in the raw power of the place. She absolutely loved it. There was so much power left behind from those that fought and had fallen in battle so long ago. Upon death any magick they possessed the temple or the tower (whichever the dying person/creature was closest to) absorbed their power. There was a legend that if at any point there was only one ShadowBane left they would be able to draw on the power from either location or both if need be to restore the land or to defend the realm. It also did not matter how far away she was from either location if she chose to do so. Now there was a lot of magick yes, but it was not a limitless pool. It had a limit a large limit but there was one. She stepped down the stairs and crossed the floor that lay between the steps and the altar. She stood there staring around at the temple. She had never imagined that it could have been like this. It's amazing.
Leaving the altar room behind she searched around for the bed chambers. Upon finding them she searched around looking for any belongings that had been left behind. She found clothes and personal belongings, books, journals a variety of different things and gathered up what she could and chose a room that would fit her. Of course this room she had chosen would only be when she was at the temple. Otherwise her home was at the tower. So many things she needed to study rested there and she intended to learn about every single object and book that had been placed there. She would leave nothing out. Such a thirst for knowledge she had that she became restless if she didn't have something new to study or learn. Everything was wondrous and power was her main concern. If it had power she was going to learn how to harness it.
