Having finally gotten the amulet she had been searching for upon her visit to Masala, Akara had traveled back to her empire. Passing through the Lunitaris province and over to Solinaris she had sent a few men to her sister Akeema's home deep within the dark forest to deliver a gift from Akara. Continuing on further into the forests she continued on her search for the next artifact required for the ritual of her ascension. Having already acquired the amulet from a legendary priestess named Kahlan and a ritual urn that was used for centuries in several rituals in the Holy Isle within Akara's empire, she was now in search of a ritualistic dagger. From what little information she could gather about the dagger she had tracked it's location or at least it's last known location right before it disappeared to being lost somewhere within the deepest part of the dark forest within Solinaris.
She had a small contingent of guards with her on this part of her journey. They traveled in search of an ancient fountain said to have grown out of the earth. Legend says that the fountain's waters had healing properties and if one were lucky enough to actually have the fountain flare to life and relinquish some of it's waters to a worthy party that had traveled to see the fountain, the water would cure any ailment one suffered should you drink the magickal fluid. Akara did not seek the fountain for it's legend of healing water's but instead sought it as a basic starting location for her search of the dagger. One of her scouts had returned and informed her that the fountain was just ahead and it was definitely something that every one person within the empire should journey to see at some point in their life. Intrigued by this the small company continued on with the scout leading them to their starting location and whathe described to be a wondrous sight.
After hours of searching they had finally been lead to the fountain. Her gaze took in the clearing and the fountain as well. She ordered the guards to fan out around the perimeter. Her steps were slow and deliberate as she approached the ancient structure. Kneeling beside it she closed her eyes and listened to the water as it splashed down into the pool below. Such a soothing sound, she thought. If she ever had trouble sleeping in the future she would have to come here and she knew she'd be asleep in no time. Opening her eyes once more to look deep within the pool she began to concentrate. It was said that only those worthy would be able to summon a dagger that had been hidden here so very long ago.
The clearing was silent all except for the sound of running water from the fountain. It was not long before she saw the glint of metal at the bottom of the pool. A smile crept across her lips and she continued to concentrate, bringing it slowly closer to the surface.
The dagger continued to slowly rise to the surface of the water. Once it had reached the surface Akara scooped it up out of the water and without taking any time to bask in the beauty of such an ancient artifact she hooked it to her belt. A few of the guards had turned to look over their shoulders to see if Akara had finished retrieving what she had come for in the first place. She rose then from her knees, and plucking the garland crown of roses from her head she laid it on the side of the pool and muttered a thank you. Turning she called to the guards informing them that they had gotten what they had come for and now they could gather everything to leave.
They circled behind the Empress continuing to watch their surroundings in case someone should accidentally stumble upon them. The scout that had led them to the fountain now led them back to their horses. It was not long before they came upon the grazing animals. The guards prepared their horses and the Empress' horse for the journey back. Mounting her horse, Akara turned the stallion in the direction of the castle and with a swift kick to the horse's flanks he set off at a run for their home.
